The Gallas Question

There has been talk and there has been argument over the choice of the Arsenal skipper for the coming season.Though Gallas has in no right been selected by Wenger, it is highly unlikely that the Gaffer will go for a Different selection than last year…atleast for the time being…

I for one would vehemently support the Profs cause if he does select Gallas as captain of the Arsenal football club.

For starters,a team needs leaders in every part of the field if they want to win something….like arsenal had in the times of tony adams, vieraand henry….maybe the leaders are not captain material but you need them to inspire the players around them..have you Forgotten the Bergkamp effect on Arsenal..and pardon me even manu won the double last year on this very fact—van der sar in goal(holland captain),ferdinand in defence(england captain-maybe),scholes & giggs in the center and ronaldo forward…you have a long list of potential captains there….got my point!!

Considering Arsenal at this point of time, Gallas is one of the three to four players in the squad who have tasted premier league glory and will have enough grit, firepower, wounds to lick from last season and a relentless urge to score(which helped us a lot last season)…a tiger on the prowl..what say??

As for the present arsenal squad—Almunia in the post is no mean machine, lets see how he does to encourage the defence.Gallas is strong enough in a defence consisting of Toure,Clichy and Sagna-all possible captains.Moving on to the central midfield,Fabregas is the only noted motivator…and maybe the czech leader rosicky-if he says fit…Finally up front we dont have many options—maybe persie–again the question of fitness??

Notably–monsieur Wenger has not signed a Defender and looks highly unlikely to do so….and If he does so whom does the new defender replace…Gallas…which is highly unlikely!!!

So now do you see the need of experience and Gallas in the squad…..

To Victory:-)

PS.hey guys pls put forward some comments to make the writings more fun….cheers

An overview of the Arsenal transfer season

We recently had  Wenger talk about making “One definitely, maybe two…” Signings before the transfer season close.

Now, the arsenal manager is quite a shrewd man.All through the off-season he has nothinted at buying a defender-why?Because he knows he wants one and if he makes too much fuss about it, he may end up paying double the amount of euros for his target.Combine that with the reported interest in William Gallas from PSG(where Wenger is a consultant–haahhaaa!!!) we know where he’ll buy that player from.

Secondly, though he may be accused of signing even younger players this year…he has done it with a twist though. Both Nasri and Ramsey are quite experienced players, one having featured in an unfancied FA cup final and another READY for 1st team action as soon as he comes in,hot from 2 years of solid first team experience at Marseille.Definitely a traditional shift from buying players that he could mould easily.

Next.if you do remember at the end of last season he’d said that ‘atleast one and maybe two players would leave during the transfer window.Period–Tranfers out->4   :   Transfers in–>3(considering Coquelin)….This definitely goes to show that he’d be the last person in the world to divulge his or the club’s plans to the media…So consider some big ’performance’ signing on the card all ye Gooners!!

Till Wenger lands a Matchwinner:-)

A fairytale that could have been….a glory that could have been and a leader who could have been…GILBERTO SILVA!! gilly leaves north london(most probably) a gentleman who does more than he says….a quality that prompted Wenger to promote him a captain of the side.

His is a unique riches to rags story…Mostly due to Mr.Wengers stupid policies.a player who single handedly led the side in a season where the whole side was literally off-colour was discarded for a money laundering Flamster(who almost lost us a few games due to his stupid postioning) as soon as the next season began….As if there wasn’t enough experience on the exit door already…..so to boot out another senior player from the arsenal 11 did no good to the french tactitians role as a manager….Maybe he was AFRAID of spoiling the squads chemistry…maybe he got it right…Maybe he screwed up a bit(as he did admit)…

But amidst all the washing of dirty linen in public by the likes of MAD JENS and LASSANA(desperate) DIARRA this one man stood calm and stood the test like a gentleman…he understood why the manager was doing what he was doing and did not wish to paint anyone’s face black. Thus he leaves the club as he came…LOVED AND RESPECTED…!!!

If there is still hope…i and infact a whole bunch of other gunners would love to see him tread just another season at ashburton grove and get the TESTIMONIAL that he truly and singly(amongst the current bunch of players) truly deserves….

TO GILBERTO:-)

What does it take to be a gunner!!

Ade is baying, hleb has been plumbed and flamster is already moneyed….move on
>>come in nasri(hopefully),vela and wenger is supposedly broken and past his prime!!

Not a very good time eh…the team is getting younger and the coach is getting older>>>here is a showcase of reasons why most fans still believe the team can pull of a surprise or two in the coming year…

1.we make a lot of money of Ade and spend it on a striker who wishes to play like henry before being paid like henry.

2.Ronaldo is off to madrid and manu languishes mid-table due to lack of ideas(too optimistic…i know)

3.Walcott finally saves wengers a** and turns into a real striker while the whole world believes he is a great winger.

4.Bendtner finally gets some ice packs to sleep with and has no Ade to fight over who misses the best chances.

5.Wenger knows>>>but it finally works after 3 seasons…manu also went through the phase.

6.Ros is no longer Sicky

7.v.persie finally gets his tally of 30 goals in a season(provided he retires from playing for injury prone holland).

8.Emirates pays off the mortgage so that wenger the whiner can turn attention to making Emirates stadium the “Destination” rather than the “Gas station”.

9.The youth system starts producing better players than seb so that wenger does not have to go around splashing the cash on ramsey(to develop him for 2 seasons and sell him to barca for a 100 million…watch out ronnie)…

10.If the players start taking responsibility that it is the team which ultimately wins or loses and not run off to milan in search of the uefa cup…

11.Cesc scores twice two times over to topple cska chelsea and manu.

12.We need to keep the faith..
